GCE Toll

Two persons looking up to the sky one saying “thanks” one saying “why”. With the release of the General Certificate Examinations (GCE) results a lot of choices have to be made. for some it’s the expected end with a safe  landing into higher education. For others it was a crash landing back where they came from.
The analysis of GCE in Cameroon this 2013/2014 academic year is 63.9% for the Advanced level and a brow raising 34.4% in the ordinary level last year it was 55.9 for the A’levels  45.7 for the O’ levels That is 8% more  and 11.3 less. Everybody is asking “what happened” I met a candidate that said it’s because the exams were too easy n the students prepared for diamonds so I guess they got cheese or cream whichever you consider softer. So it’s back to the drawing board for most parents. Now decisions have to be made about who returns, who moves on, and who gives up.
I saw a three boys running up towards Malingo junction in Buea and one literally was stopped in his tracks as he read looked at his phone, when his friends looked behind he shook his head in denial and they stopped and came backwards MTN seems to have done a better Job this year with delivering correct results and not exchanging though some people thought the messages came through after too long a time and the newspapers our parents wanted so much were also printed.
So whether the results made us scream into our pillows in pain or scream “yes” while making a powerful fist, moving on for both of them is a matter of “when” and not “if”. So this September you may shop for another uniform or new clothes whichever comes first just hang on.In Jim Rohn’s words “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges, wish for more wisdom”
Good Luck
