Women's day...

I went to the market (hours to the womens day) the hustle and bustle was there but this time just with a pinch of happiness,of merry...a big thing is coming. The women have thier hair traditionally tied up but they are all done.,like red carpet ready...sort of.
8 March is internationally celebrated as women's day,In Cameroon the anticipation starts getting built from February starting with the fabric or the material.Ladies always do the proper propaganda by making their opinions known.(usually lots of hate, comments and stories about the origin of the fabric.)
Tailors and seeamstresses emplore thier sense of creativity and design to sew "kabas" (big free gowns) with hints of trending fabric and style be it denim, lacecut outs or even just big buttons. It is eminently a big deal and big day in their lives.Social groups and proffessional institutions come out march and share drinks till its time to be mummy and wife again.
8 March is more of the day to kick off the mother and wife boots and put your feet up.Its about being a girl again, drinks with friends, pay with your own money, tell yourselves you don't need men.Its a silent "see how far we've come".So you see women dancing and going down low with so much joy, dancing to the latest hits, and there is that look in thier eyes that says "let me do this" but if you look deeper you might just see who mummy was before a bed mate and diaper duty. Before she became a better half she was a full thing-a girl, that laughed loudly without being mannerly, waved her hands, listened and danced to music and took a sip of her favourite liquid and closes her eyes. Before she knows it she may be mum and wife again so even if she gets to feel all that just one day a year, she will take it.she will take it any day.
   Happy Women's Day.Men be nice,guys be sweet,women be free, I Love You M.
